Product, Communications & Learning Internship

About the role

The Africa Center for Health Systems and Gender Justice is seeking motivated interns to support its product, communications and learning activities in Nairobi. The role offers hands‑on exposure to community‑focused projects that address gender equity and health system strengthening.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of product materials and tools.
• Assist in creating communication content such as social media posts, newsletters and outreach materials.
• Help design and deliver learning sessions, workshops or training modules.
• Conduct community outreach with women’s groups, youth and other grassroots organisations.
• Gather feedback from beneficiaries and document lessons learned.
• Translate or adapt materials into Swahili and, where possible, local languages like Sheng.

Required profile

• Background in community development, gender studies, public health, social work, psychology, sociology, development studies or related fields.
• Experience working with women’s groups, informal settlements, youth, GBV survivors or grassroots organisations is an advantage.
• Fluency in Swahili is required; knowledge of Sheng or other local languages is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy and respect for community knowledge.
