Production & Maintenance Manager – Tissue/Paper Converting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production & Engineering Manager to lead a 24/7 tissue and paper converting plant in Nairobi. The role combines responsibility for production output, equipment reliability, quality standards, and continuous improvement across the entire manufacturing operation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily production operations to meet output, quality, and efficiency targets.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximise machine uptime.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and automation issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and operational standards.
• Lead, coach and develop shift‑based production and maintenance teams.
• Drive OEE improvement, reduce downtime and optimise costs.
• Support installation, commissioning and start‑up of new equipment.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• 7–10 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in tissue or paper converting.
• Proven experience managing shift‑based production teams in a high‑speed environment.
