Professor - Cognitive Neuroscience

About the role

The University seeks a dedicated Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience to join its faculty in Nairobi. This full‑time position involves teaching, research, and mentorship at both undergraduate and graduate levels, contributing to the university’s academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate and graduate courses in cognitive neuroscience.
• Support and mentor students in their academic and career development.
• Participate in curriculum development to keep programmes current and marketable.
• Engage in programme assessment and periodic reviews.
• Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Conduct original research in the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Provide service to the university, professional bodies, and the community.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Earned Doctoral Degree (PhD, PsyD or equivalent) in Psychology with a specialization relevant to cognitive neuroscience.
• Prior teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral level.
• Minimum publication points as defined by the CUE Standards & Guidelines (2014).
• Experience supervising postgraduate students is an advantage.
• Registration with the Counselors and Psychologists Board of Kenya and any other relevant professional body, where applicable.
