Program Lead – Humanitarian Response & Giving

About the role

The Program Lead – Humanitarian Response & Giving will head a global humanitarian response fund and manage crisis‑specific giving initiatives. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures rapid activation, coordinated partner engagement, effective fundraising and transparent impact reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the humanitarian response fund, maintaining activation plans, procedures, budgets and response tools while coordinating cross‑functional teams.
• Monitor emerging crises, assess response opportunities, identify credible partners and grant prospects, and recommend allocations based on needs and available funding.
• Oversee fundraising and donor‑acquisition campaigns, manage approved messaging and digital giving channels, and ensure dignified storytelling and transparent impact reporting.
• Track program performance, fundraising targets, response timelines and resource utilisation, providing regular governance updates and leading post‑response reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Studies, International Development, Disaster Management, Non‑profit Management, Philanthropy, Business or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in humanitarian response, emergency fundraising, crisis grantmaking or a comparable program, with direct experience in a humanitarian‑response charity or disaster‑relief organisation.
• Proven ability to activate rapid‑response mechanisms, manage partners, recommend grant allocations and lead donor‑fundraising initiatives.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian standards, safeguarding, localisation, cross‑border grantmaking and relief‑to‑development approaches.
• Excellent program and project management skills, sound judgement under pressure and strong relationship‑management and communication abilities.
