Project Coordinator – WHO Implementation Research Project

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead day‑to‑day activities for the WHO Implementation Research project that aims to integrate Pre‑Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) into family planning services across selected Kenyan counties. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the coordinator ensures high‑quality research, data management, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coordination and technical support for the 10‑month WHO IR project.
• Oversee implementation activities, ensuring compliance with study protocols, ethical standards and donor requirements.
• Manage data collection, quality assurance and reporting across national, county and facility levels.
• Supervise field teams and research staff, facilitating training and performance monitoring.
• Coordinate engagement with the Ministry of Health, WHO, County Health Management Teams, implementing partners and health facilities.
• Support policy reviews, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, surveys, longitudinal cohort follow‑up and Participatory Action Research workshops.

Required profile

• Motivated and highly organized professional with experience in project coordination, implementation research or health‑systems strengthening in Kenya.
• Demonstrated ability to ensure protocol compliance, ethical conduct and timely delivery of project milestones.
• Experience supervising research staff and managing multi‑stakeholder collaborations.
