Project Manager

About the role

The Company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of telecommunications and infrastructure projects across East Africa. You will act as the primary client liaison, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, resource schedules, and budgets, and monitor performance throughout the lifecycle.
• Coordinate engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and support staff to ensure smooth execution.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, managing expectations and communicating progress.
• Track project costs, manage variations, and ensure profitability.
• Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, regulatory standards, and quality procedures.
• Oversee procurement and logistics for materials and equipment.
• Prepare regular status reports and dashboards for senior management and clients.
• Conduct project close‑out activities, including handover documentation and lessons learned.
• Mentor Assistant Project Managers and junior staff, and support business development efforts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Project Management or related field.
• Professional Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
• 5–7 years of project management experience in telecom, ICT, electrical or infrastructure sectors, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of delivering multi‑disciplinary projects on time and within budget.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across East Africa.
