Project Manager

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of industrial plant projects from initiation through to completion. The role focuses on mechanical engineering projects within the edible‑oil sector, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project concepts, conduct feasibility studies and prepare mechanical engineering designs.
• Produce technical drawings and P&ID schematics.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and challenges.
• Plan and estimate costs, evaluate tenders and prepare analysis reports.
• Oversee mechanical services installations, enforce food‑safety compliance and control quality.
• Manage project documentation, contracts and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate resources, budgets and stakeholder communications to achieve project objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (member number displayed).
• Member of the Architectural Association of Kenya (member number displayed).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial plant construction or chemical manufacturing, specifically in edible‑oil crushing or extraction plants.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• High level of professionalism, accountability and attention to detail.
