Project Manager, Real Estate

About the role

The World Bank Group’s Real Estate Team provides safe, cost‑effective and sustainable real estate solutions for its global entities. Based in Nairobi, the Project Manager, Real Estate will lead acquisition, design and construction of office facilities across the Africa region, reporting to the Manager, Real Estate (GCSF1) and working under the Senior Project Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the work programme for office acquisition, design and construction in the Africa region.
• Coordinate with headquarters, country offices, internal business units, attorneys, real‑estate brokers, landlords and equipment manufacturers.
• Manage relationships with architectural, engineering, project‑management firms and construction contractors.
• Ensure projects meet safety, cost, sustainability and functional standards aligned with the World Bank’s mission.
• Monitor project budgets, timelines and compliance with the World Bank Real Estate Governance Framework.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale facilities projects, including acquisition, design and construction.
• Ability to work closely with senior managers, legal teams and external service providers.
• Strong understanding of real‑estate development, procurement processes and project governance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
