Prompt Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Prompt Engineer to join our AI team in Nairobi. You will design, test and optimise conversational prompts for production‑grade large language model (LLM) and voice‑bot systems that support our banking and fintech operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy prompt flows and dialogue scripts for English and Swahili customer interactions.
• Run structured A/B tests and KPI‑based evaluations to continuously improve prompt performance.
• Collaborate with IT, strategy and operations teams as well as third‑party AI and voice vendors.
• Integrate prompts into contact‑centre, telephony and IVR platforms, especially for collections and customer service.
• Document prompt designs and maintain version control for production environments.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in prompt engineering, conversational‑AI or chatbot design.
• Proven track record of delivering production‑ready prompts for LLM or voice‑bot systems.
• Experience in banking, fintech, collections or related BPO environments is a strong advantage.
• Ability to produce high‑quality English and Swahili conversational content.
