About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Proposal Development Coordinator to lead the end‑to‑end creation of concept notes and funding proposals. This role ensures that all submissions meet donor expectations, align with organizational priorities, and follow the CGIAR pre‑award process.
Key responsibilities
- Organise and coordinate the full proposal cycle, from concept development to final submission.
- Set and manage timelines, workplans, and task allocations to guarantee timely delivery.
- Research donor priorities, funding trends, and climate finance opportunities to inform pipeline development.
- Improve proposal processes by integrating AI tools, templates, and boilerplates.
- Coordinate internal inputs for funder surveys and information requests.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to proposal activities, escalating issues as needed.
- Lead kick‑off, check‑in, and review meetings with cross‑functional teams.
- Collaborate with scientists, technical experts, and business units to tailor proposal content.
- Translate donor feedback into actionable tasks for proposal teams.
- Engage with donors, partners, and internal stakeholders to explore funding opportunities and prepare briefings.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Development Studies, Environmental Science or related field (or Bachelor’s with eight years relevant experience).
- Minimum five years of experience in proposal development, grant writing, or resource mobilisation.
- Proven experience researching and analysing business development or pipeline opportunities.
- Experience drafting concept notes and full proposals, guiding multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with donor liaison, especially climate funds such as the GCF, is an advantage.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); working knowledge of Arabic, French or Spanish is desirable.
- Experience in an international not‑for‑profit organisation is a plus.
