Quality Checks Officer – Valuation

About the role

The Quality Checks Officer – Valuation ensures accurate motor‑vehicle valuations, reviews and approves reports, and mentors junior staff. The role supports policy compliance and keeps the department aligned with emerging automotive technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Verify valuation reports for completeness, accuracy and correct pricing before approval.
• Maintain and archive all approval‑center records for future reference.
• Update price lists and ensure timely processing of reports.
• Re‑evaluate disputed valuations when customers appeal.
• Coach and mentor junior valuation officers, conduct inductions and guide field staff.
• Enforce department policies, procedures and work instructions.
• Research new automotive technologies and apply findings to daily duties.
• Act as interim head of department when required and perform any additional duties assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma in Automotive Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Member of the Institute of Professional Engineers.
• Minimum three years of practical experience in a busy valuation and insurance environment.
• Clean driving licence with at least two years of driving experience (BCE).
