Quantitative Field Interviewer – Research Project

About the role

The African Population and Health Research Center is seeking dedicated Quantitative Field Interviewers to support a research project in Nairobi’s Westlands area. Interviewers will collect household and structural data using electronic tools and ensure high‑quality data for analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Attend all training sessions and field data collection days.
• Obtain and document informed consent from participants before interviews.
• List existing structures and rentable rooms in the study sites.
• Conduct and record interviews with respondents using tablets.
• Participate in daily debrief meetings.
• Safeguard APHRC data collection equipment and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Perform any other related activities assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with at least a grade C.
• Experience with electronic data capture methods such as SurveyCTO and tablet devices.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy.
• Previous experience working in Korogocho or Viwandani is an advantage.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Swahili.
• Resident of Nairobi County and available full‑time for the project duration.
