Regenerative Agriculture & Agronomy Manager

About the role

The Regenerative Agriculture & Agronomy Manager will lead the agronomy team and drive the implementation of regenerative agriculture and farmer productivity initiatives across Kenya. This role blends people leadership, operational management, strategic planning and technical oversight to improve farm resilience and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the Agronomy Team, setting clear objectives and performance expectations.
• Develop annual, quarterly and monthly work plans, coordinate field schedules, farmer training and extension activities.
• Design and implement regenerative agriculture programs, including demonstration plots, soil health management and climate‑smart practices.
• Support certification and compliance activities, preparing audits and corrective actions.
• Promote gender equity and youth inclusion through farmer group development and entrepreneurship training.
• Collaborate with Monitoring & Evaluation to collect, validate and report impact data.
• Maintain relationships with cooperatives, farmers and project partners, and coordinate agronomy activities with field representatives.
• Manage agronomy budgets, monitor expenditures and ensure resource efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in agronomy, agricultural development or sustainability.
• 5‑7 years of experience leading and managing field‑based technical teams.
• Proven experience implementing regenerative agriculture or climate‑smart agriculture initiatives.
• Strong understanding of soil health, crop production systems and Good Agricultural Practices.
• Excellent people leadership, analytical and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with digital data collection and monitoring systems.
