Regional Manager – Micro & Boresha

About the role

The Regional Manager will lead the growth, profitability and portfolio quality of the Micro and Boresha products across all fulfilment centres in Kenya. The role oversees acquisition, retention, collections and works closely with Credit, Debt Recovery, Finance, Operations and Marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sustainable growth of the Micro and Boresha portfolios, set acquisition targets and identify new market opportunities.
• Build and retain a strong customer base, monitor satisfaction and reduce attrition.
• Deliver disbursement, revenue and profitability targets while managing loan sizes, portfolio mix and cost of acquisition.
• Oversee collections, monitor PAR, NPL and roll rates, and coordinate early interventions with Debt Recovery.
• Provide leadership to fulfilment centre team leaders, cascade targets and track field productivity.
• Review product performance, recommend pricing or term adjustments and support product development.
• Prepare accurate performance reports on new business, portfolio health, collections and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with product policies, delegated authorities and responsible lending standards.
• Partner with HR to recruit, coach and develop team leaders and lending staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a micro‑finance institution as a Regional Manager, Business Loans Manager or Branch Manager.
• Proven record in acquisition, retention, portfolio growth, collections and PAR/NPL management.
• Experience leading and developing team leaders and lending teams, including recruitment.
• Multi‑branch or multi‑region experience is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using reporting systems for portfolio analysis and performance tracking.
