Remote Cybersecurity Specialist – Penetration Testing

About the role

We are looking for a Remote Cybersecurity Specialist to perform penetration testing for a global information‑services leader. The contractor will assess the security posture of networks, web applications and APIs, uncover vulnerabilities and provide clear remediation guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments, including network, web‑application and API penetration testing.
• Run vulnerability scans, analyse results and identify security weaknesses.
• Develop and execute custom exploits to validate risks and simulate real‑world attack scenarios.
• Document findings in detailed reports with exploitation steps and mitigation recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to triage findings and verify remediation efforts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and communicate findings clearly.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Required skills

• Penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Metasploit.
• Scripting languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Knowledge of security frameworks: OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, CIS Benchmarks.
• Understanding of network protocols, Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles.
