Research Assistant – WHO PrEP Implementation Study

About the role

The WHO Implementation Research (WHO IR) Project is a mixed‑methods study evaluating the integration of Pre‑Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) into Family Planning services across four Kenyan counties. As a Research Assistant you will support data collection, participant management and community engagement for this six‑month fixed‑term assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment, enrollment, informed consent and follow‑up of study participants.
• Collect high‑quality quantitative and qualitative data through interviews, focus‑group discussions and surveys.
• Maintain adherence to study protocols, ethical standards and data‑management procedures.
• Facilitate community engagement activities in collaboration with Community Advisory Boards, peer educators and county stakeholders.
• Coordinate closely with the Project Coordinator, research team and health‑care providers at duty stations in Nairobi, Kisumu, Homa Bay and Migori.

Required profile

• No specific academic qualification is listed; candidates with experience in health research, data collection or community outreach are encouraged.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and follow strict research protocols.
• Willingness to travel to assigned duty stations and conduct field visits.
