Restaurant Cashier – Process Payments & Support Stock

About the role

Surelift Solutions Limited, on behalf of a hospitality client, is looking for a reliable Restaurant Cashier to join their front‑of‑house team in Westlands, Nairobi. You will be the primary point of contact for guests when handling payments and will assist with basic inventory tasks, ensuring smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process customer payments accurately using cash, mobile money, POS systems and other methods.
• Issue receipts, maintain daily transaction records and balance cash registers at shift end.
• Prepare end‑of‑shift reports and reconcile cash drawers.
• Deliver friendly, professional service and resolve payment‑related inquiries.
• Support basic stock monitoring, record inventory movements and report discrepancies.
• Keep the cashier station clean, organized and compliant with cash‑handling policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a cashier in a restaurant, hotel, café or similar hospitality setting.
• Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
