Restaurant Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations at Sky Bistro in Westlands, Nairobi. The role combines commercial focus with a passion for food quality and exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Drive food sales and profitability while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation and service.
• Oversee day‑to‑day restaurant operations, ensuring consistency in food preparation, portion control and hygiene.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development, costing, portion control and kitchen efficiency.
• Monitor food costs, wastage, stock levels and gross profit margins; implement controls to reduce loss.
• Lead, motivate and schedule restaurant and service staff to meet performance targets.
• Analyse daily sales, expenses and operational data; prepare regular reports for management.
• Coordinate promotions, themed nights and special events to increase covers and repeat business.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and statutory regulations.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management or a related field.
• 3–5 years proven experience managing a busy restaurant, preferably in a food‑focused or casual/fine‑dining setting.
• Strong understanding of food costing, menu engineering, stock management and profitability.
• Demonstrated ability to grow sales and improve operational efficiency.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
