Sales Agronomist

About the role

Yara International is seeking a Sales Agronomist to combine technical agronomy expertise with commercial sales activities in Nairobi, Kenya. You will act as the bridge between farmers, distributors and Yara’s crop nutrition solutions, driving product adoption while delivering on sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Train farmers, generate sales, and manage a network of distributors.
• Organise and follow‑up demo trials and field days with distributors and partners.
• Apply agronomic knowledge to increase customer demand for Yara products.
• Monitor distributor sales performance against targets and report findings.
• Collect debts from customers in the assigned region.
• Provide monthly sales forecasts to support Yara Kenya’s business plan.
• Participate in agri‑fairs and support customers at Yara booths.
• Assist the Agronomy department in preparing crop programs for key crops in the region.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an agronomist in a commercial environment.
• Strong understanding of Kenya’s agricultural market structure and seasonal cropping calendars.
• Proven ability to combine commercial delivery with technical agronomic engagement, preferably in fertilizer or crop nutrition.
• Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills.
• Valid manual‑gear driving licence.
