Sales & Marketing Manager

About the role

The client is a community‑focused microfinance institution that provides affordable credit to individuals, small businesses and grassroots entrepreneurs. As Sales & Marketing Manager you will design and execute sales and marketing strategies to grow the loan portfolio, increase brand visibility and strengthen client relationships across Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve growth targets and expand the client base.
• Lead, coach and mentor a sales team, ensuring they have product knowledge and selling skills.
• Drive customer acquisition through field visits, referrals, community partnerships and other outreach initiatives.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis and manage marketing channels such as social media, local activations and events.
• Monitor sales pipeline, prepare performance reports and manage sales and marketing budgets.
• Oversee customer relationship management, handling feedback, inquiries and complaints to maintain high satisfaction.
• Provide market feedback for product development and promote new products to the team and target market.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of proven sales and marketing experience in microfinance or credit services.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team and meet revenue targets.
• Strong understanding of micro‑finance products, credit risk and financial regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
