Security Guard – Visible Presence & Access Control

About the role

The Security Guard provides a visible security presence to protect life, property and premises for BrighterMonday Consulting and its clients in Nairobi. You will patrol, monitor access points and respond to incidents in line with the Private Security Regulation Act, 2016 and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular foot patrols to deter theft, vandalism, fire and other security breaches.
• Verify identification at entry/exit points, maintain visitor logs and issue passes.
• Observe and promptly report suspicious activities, incidents or hazards.
• Enforce security rules, conduct searches where authorized, and manage crowds and traffic.
• Provide first response during emergencies, assist evacuations and coordinate with police or emergency services.
• Assist visitors, staff and clients courteously while upholding security protocols.
• Maintain uniform, equipment and personal appearance according to company standards.
• Attend mandatory training on security procedures, first aid, fire safety and conflict management.

Required profile

• Kenyan citizen with a valid National ID and KCSE certificate.
• Minimum height of 5.6 ft, preferably male, aged 30‑35 years.
• Ability to read and write in English and Kiswahili.
• Good physical fitness, clear vision and hearing, and no serious medical conditions.
• Discipline, integrity, professional appearance and no criminal record.
• Previous experience in security, military or police service.
