Security Lady – Shopping Mall

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Security Lady to maintain a safe and welcoming environment at a busy shopping mall in Westlands. The role involves patrolling, monitoring, and responding to incidents to protect visitors, tenants, and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas of the mall, including entrances, exits, parking areas, and common spaces to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activities.
• Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems to identify suspicious behaviour or security breaches.
• Control access to restricted areas and verify authorisation where required.
• Conduct security checks on visitors, contractors, and deliveries in accordance with mall procedures.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, accidents, medical incidents, and security concerns.
• Assist in evacuations during emergencies and ensure emergency procedures are followed.
• Provide a visible security presence to enhance customer confidence and deter criminal activity.
• Assist shoppers, tenants, and visitors by providing directions and responding to general inquiries.
• Handle conflicts, disturbances, or disorderly conduct professionally and in accordance with company policies.
• Investigate and report incidents, accidents, thefts, and property damage accurately and promptly.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain daily occurrence records.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify safety hazards and report maintenance or security concerns.
• Liaise with law enforcement, emergency responders, and mall management whenever necessary.
• Ensure compliance with company security policies, health and safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
• Safeguard company assets and assist in loss‑prevention initiatives.
• Perform any other security‑related duties assigned by the Security Supervisor or Mall Management.

Required profile

• KCSE Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Certificate in Security Operations, Criminology, or related field (advantageous).
• Previous experience in security services, retail security, or customer‑facing roles preferred.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Physically fit and able to stand or patrol for extended periods.
• Strong observation and situational awareness.
• Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions during emergencies.
• Basic report‑writing skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and night duties where applicable.
