Security Specialist (Level P-3) – Fixed Term – Nairobi

About the role

The Security Specialist (Level P‑3) provides integrated security support for all UNICEF offices in Nairobi, overseeing risk analysis, planning and incident management to ensure safe operations across a growing footprint. The role reports to the Representative/Chief Field Office and works closely with UNDSS, the Security Cell and other UNSMS actors to implement risk mitigation measures. It leads a team of national security professionals to deliver coordinated support for staff, premises, missions and events.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in security studies, international relations, political science, criminology, emergency management, public administration, risk management or related field (or Bachelor’s with additional experience)
• Minimum five years of relevant security or global risk management experience
• Fluency in English
• Knowledge of an additional UN language or local language is an asset
• Experience with United Nations Security Management System and country‑level security in development or humanitarian contexts is desirable
