About the role
UNICEF is seeking a Security Specialist (P‑3) to lead security risk management, planning and service delivery in Nairobi. The role focuses on analysing security information, building partnerships and fostering innovation to protect staff and programme operations in a UN environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement security risk management and planning strategies.
- Oversee delivery of security services across the country office.
- Analyse programmatic security information to inform decision‑making.
- Establish and maintain security networking and partnership arrangements.
- Drive innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building initiatives.
Required profile
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in security studies, international relations, risk management or related field; a bachelor’s degree plus two years experience may be accepted.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in security, global security risk management or security analysis, preferably within the UN system.
- Fluency in English; additional UN language knowledge is an asset.
