Senior Accountant – Real Estate

About the role

The Accountant will manage the company’s financial records, produce accurate reports, and ensure statutory compliance. You will support senior management with financial analysis and decision‑making, focusing on real‑estate and property development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and manage cash position.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow projections.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processing.
• File statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, NSSF, SHIF, Housing Levy, corporate tax).
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants and regulatory authorities.
• Track rental income, service charges, tenant deposits and arrears.
• Prepare management accounts and performance reports for senior management.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers, oversee capitalization and depreciation.
• Support financial planning and reporting for ongoing property development projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• CPA(K) finalist or qualified CPA(K) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 3 years in real‑estate or property development.
• Proven experience in project accounting and development cost management.
