Senior Associate, Employee Relations, Performance

About the role

The Senior Associate, Employee Relations, Performance will support I&M Bank in maintaining a fair, compliant, and engaging workplace. The role combines employee‑relations expertise, performance‑management coordination, and wellness‑programme support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, interpret and communicate HR policies in line with Kenyan labour law and the Bank’s governance standards.
• Manage employee‑relations cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, appeals and documentation, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance to managers on handling employee matters and participate in disciplinary hearings as a panel member.
• Maintain accurate, auditable records of ER cases and update the HR manual as legislation evolves.
• Coordinate performance‑review schedules, support managers and employees through the review process, track progress and generate reports while safeguarding confidentiality.
• Assist in the execution of the Bank’s Employee Wellness Programme, liaising with accredited providers, scheduling activities and driving participation.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR regulatory requirements.
• Experience handling disciplinary cases, grievance processes and employee‑relations documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with HR Business Partners, line managers and employee representatives.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills.
