Senior Associate, Foundry

About the role

Acumen Fund is seeking a Senior Associate for its Foundry programme in Nairobi. The role will support early‑stage social enterprises across East Africa, helping them build capacity, secure investment, and scale impact.

Key responsibilities

• Design, launch and iterate multi‑stakeholder programmes that move enterprises from idea to investment‑ready.
• Facilitate workshops, cohort meetings and cross‑country convenings, both online and in‑person.
• Maintain and enrich CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Airtable) to track engagement, needs and outcomes.
• Produce communications such as newsletters, profiles, nomination packages and impact reports.
• Build and nurture relationships with founders, partners, donors and internal teams.

Required profile

• 5‑6 years of experience in programme delivery, community building or ecosystem support for early‑stage social enterprises.
• Strong relationship‑building and storytelling abilities.
• Comfort operating in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments with attention to detail.
• Deep familiarity with the East Africa social‑innovation ecosystem and low‑resource contexts.
• Alignment with Acumen’s mission, values and moral leadership ethos.
