Senior Associate – Programme Management (International Development)

About the role

PwC is looking for a Senior Associate to join its International Development and Public Sector Consulting team. The role will focus on designing, managing and delivering complex development programmes across East Africa, ensuring effective coordination, governance and measurable impact.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to programme design, including operating models, implementation frameworks, governance structures and delivery approaches.
• Develop programme strategies, theories of change, workplans, results frameworks and detailed schedules, resource plans, risk registers and dependency maps.
• Design and support Technical Assistance, Programme Management and Monitoring & Evaluation methodologies.
• Manage multiple workstreams, monitor progress against timelines, budgets and quality standards, and identify and mitigate risks.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement, coordination and reporting throughout the programme lifecycle.
• Track implementation against workplans and KPIs, providing progress updates and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing and delivering complex development programmes.
• Strong understanding of international development, public sector consulting and climate‑resilient growth initiatives.
• Excellent analytical, coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with governments, NGOs, development partners and private‑sector stakeholders.
