Senior Credit Officer

About the role

The Senior Credit Officer will support the Credit Manager in delivering effective credit services to Sacco members. This position combines credit analysis, administration, and team leadership within a dynamic cooperative banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide credit and administrative support to the Credit Manager.
• Manage credit applications, assessments, and approvals in line with Sacco policies.
• Prepare and present credit reports, budgets, and performance dashboards.
• Lead and motivate a small credit team to achieve targets.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal credit guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related field.
• CPA (II) or CCP (II) certification.
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in credit administration, preferably within a Sacco or similar financial institution.
• Strong business sense, initiative, and ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Excellent communication, planning and organizational abilities.
• Proficient in IT tools, budgeting and report writing.
