Senior Data Engineer

About the role

OneDome is a UK‑based property technology company building a single digital journey for homebuyers, estate agents, conveyancers and mortgage brokers. This is the company’s first dedicated data engineering position, responsible for owning the data warehouse and the pipelines that feed it.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an AWS‑based data platform that scales with rapid business growth.
• Design, build and operate the data warehouse, integrating data from product, CRM and third‑party systems.
• Model data for analytics and reporting, ensuring models are tested, documented and reliable.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and set technical direction across the platform.
• Guarantee data quality, performance, scalability and compliance with GDPR, including retention, deletion and subject‑access requests.
• Collaborate with product managers, analysts and engineers across distributed teams to deliver high‑impact solutions.
• Leverage AI‑powered coding assistants to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards of security and operational excellence.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building and running production data pipelines end‑to‑end.
• Hands‑on experience with data warehouse design, dimensional modelling and slowly changing dimensions.
• Production experience with Amazon Redshift or an equivalent columnar warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Proficiency with dbt, including testing, documentation and CI.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL (JSONB) and DynamoDB.
• Practical knowledge of AWS services (S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, EventBridge, Kinesis/Firehose, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and observability.
• Familiarity with handling regulated personal data in the UK (GDPR).
• Excellent communication in English; Russian is a plus.
