Senior Financial Analyst / FP&A Analyst

About the role

FinStrat Management, a fractional CFO firm for venture‑backed startups, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to own financial models, data, and reporting for a portfolio of clients. The role will be central to the company’s data and AI transformation, leveraging live data layers and AI‑driven analysis to deliver actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain financial models, budgets, and rolling forecasts for multiple SaaS clients.
• Build standardized, live‑connected Excel models following FinStrat best‑practice principles.
• Use AI tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate variance analysis, commentary drafting, and reporting pack creation while ensuring accountability for all outputs.
• Produce presentation‑ready dashboards for urgent client requests and support migration to AWS QuickSight.
• Deliver actual‑vs‑budget‑vs‑forecast reports with clear CFO‑ready narratives that drive founder action.
• Partner directly with CFOs, divisional heads, and clients as a trusted advisor.
• Work within FinStrat’s centralized data infrastructure (Syncari, AWS S3) and flag data quality issues.
• Continuously improve technical skills to enhance client service.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in financial planning & analysis or a related field.
• Proven ability to build financial models from scratch in Microsoft Excel.
• Comfort using AI tools such as Claude within a financial modeling workflow.
• Experience creating client‑facing dashboards; exposure to AWS QuickSight is a strong plus.
• Track record managing multiple client engagements simultaneously.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and core financial statements.
