Senior Litigation Counsel – Public Service

About the role

The Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) of the Illinois Supreme Court is seeking three full‑time Senior Litigation Counsel to join its Chicago litigation team. In this public‑service position you will help protect the integrity of the legal profession by investigating attorney misconduct, applying the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct, and prosecuting disciplinary matters before the Hearing Board.

Key responsibilities

• Review and investigate allegations of professional misconduct against attorneys.
• Analyze case files, court documents, and financial records to build investigative files.
• Conduct sworn statements and depositions of attorney respondents and witnesses.
• Collaborate with the Litigation Group Manager and support staff to develop investigative plans and case strategies.
• Interpret and apply the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct in disciplinary prosecutions.
• Prepare pleadings, conduct discovery, and prosecute cases before the ARDC Hearing Board.
• Respond to inquiries through the Ethics Inquiry Program, providing guidance on professional responsibilities and disciplinary case law.
