Senior Site Engineer

About the role

The Senior Site Engineer will ensure the reliable and efficient operation of technical systems within a carrier‑neutral data centre in East Africa. Reporting to the Facility Manager, you will lead maintenance, testing and surveillance activities to meet customer SLAs and keep the facility running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute equipment or system switching procedures with minimal disruption.
• Implement energy‑efficiency measures and monitor operational performance.
• Provide site‑management solutions that align with contractual SLAs.
• Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness and safety of the data‑centre environment.
• Proactively flag potential SLA breaches and take corrective action.
• Lead root‑cause analysis projects and act as escalation point for junior staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years (72 months) of relevant engineering experience.
• Senior‑level qualification as indicated in the posting.
• Experience working in data‑centre or similar technical infrastructure environments.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with operations, clients and suppliers.
