Senior Software Engineer - Backend (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a global leader in software development and IT consulting to find a Senior Software Engineer focused on backend systems. This contract position is hybrid, allowing you to work remotely while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑performance, scalable applications used by millions worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend software systems and services.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define requirements and shape architecture.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing code to improve performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
