Senior Software Engineer – React/PHP

About the role

ELMO Software is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong React and PHP expertise to join its engineering team. Reporting to the Technical Team Lead, you will deliver high‑quality, maintainable software on a cloud‑native platform while supporting an AI‑enabled engineering culture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship production‑ready features in React, PHP and AWS with a focus on maintainability.
• Make pragmatic trade‑offs using deep domain knowledge of ELMO’s HR products.
• Identify, create and prioritize stories to systematically reduce technical debt.
• Collaborate with product, business stakeholders and teammates to ensure customer‑centric outcomes.
• Mentor engineers, run internal workshops and share best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of software engineering experience in an Agile environment.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, Domain‑Driven Design, API design, microservices and event‑driven architectures (e.g., Kafka).
• Hands‑on experience with AWS and building scalable, concurrent applications.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and version control using Git.
• Security‑mindful development awareness (OWASP Top 10) and experience with observability, monitoring and production debugging.
