Senior Structural Engineer (Kenya)

About the role

The leading Kenyan steel construction group is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the design, fabrication and erection of steel‑frame buildings, market structures, warehouses and industrial facilities. You will be responsible for turning engineering calculations into real, built structures while ensuring compliance with specifications and drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead structural design and engineering analysis for a variety of steel projects.
• Provide technical leadership during fabrication, assembly and erection of steel structures.
• Oversee workshop fabrication to ensure alignment with engineering specifications.
• Supervise site installation and erection, guaranteeing quality and safety.
• Prepare material take‑offs, Bills of Quantities and optimise project costs.
• Introduce modern steel construction methods and technologies to improve delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 4–10 years of experience in structural engineering and steel construction.

Required skills

• Structural design of steel structures.
• Fabrication and erection supervision.
• Project planning and cost estimation.
• Quality control and compliance.
• Stakeholder coordination with architects, contractors and consultants.
