Software Development Internship

About the role

Rift Innovation Lab is seeking a paid Software Development Intern to join its R&D team in Nairobi. The intern will help build customer‑facing applications and internal dashboards, and validate their performance directly in the field alongside vehicles and products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build web and mobile applications and internal dashboards used to monitor vehicle, battery and product performance.
• Write clean, well‑documented, responsive UI code and collaborate with designers and engineers to translate requirements into usable interfaces.
• Develop data‑visualisation tools that present telemetry and field data such as vehicle health, energy consumption and usage patterns.
• Iterate on dashboards based on user feedback and support internal engineering teams and customers.
• Accompany vehicles and products into the field, test applications under real‑world conditions, collect user feedback and identify bugs, edge cases and UX issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, code repositories and test reports.
• Participate actively in an international team, propose ideas, take initiative and continuously train yourself.
