Statutory Reporting & Tax Compliance Manager

About the role

The Statutory Reporting & Tax Compliance Manager will join the Statutory and Tax Centre of Excellence (CoE) to drive the CoE’s strategic goals across Sub‑Saharan Africa. The role ensures accurate, timely statutory and tax reporting while supporting business decisions and audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file local statutory reports and tax returns in assigned SSA countries.
• Develop and implement tax strategies, review tax positions, and monitor regulatory changes.
• Provide expert guidance for financial and tax audits, manage corrective actions, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Monitor renewal dates for tax rulings, coordinate renewals with advisors, and prevent coverage gaps.
• Assess and manage tax risks, offering strategic recommendations to business leaders.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, regulatory authorities, and internal groups such as Group Tax, Accounting, and Treasury.
• Collaborate with the Managed Service Provider to ensure accurate financial accounts and reporting.
• Challenge senior stakeholders to maintain compliance with statutory, tax, and corporate policies.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in Kenya or Nigeria; no visa sponsorship or relocation support.
• Strong background in financial accounting, tax accounting, and statutory reporting within SSA.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑country tax compliance and audit processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and capacity to influence senior stakeholders.
