Structural Engineer

About the role

The Structural Engineer will lead the structural design, analysis and on‑site coordination for large‑scale building and infrastructure projects. You will ensure compliance with international and Kenyan codes while providing technical guidance to multidisciplinary project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead detailed structural analysis, modelling, design and calculations for complex projects.
• Prepare and review structural drawings, specifications, calculations and technical documentation.
• Coordinate structural designs with architectural, MEP, geotechnical and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance and supervise structural works on site, ensuring construction quality and code compliance.
• Conduct structural condition assessments and produce technical reports.
• Support cost control, budgeting, scheduling and procurement of structural materials.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to contract and vendor management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience on high‑value, large‑scale projects such as high‑rise buildings, bridges or complex foundations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Professional ethics and a proactive approach to sustainable, resilient design.

Required skills

• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software: SAP2000, ETABS, ANSYS, Revit Structure, RISA‑3D.
• Experience in finite element modelling and seismic analysis.
• Knowledge of steel, concrete and post‑tensioned structural design.
