Structural/Civil Engineer – Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Structural/Civil Engineer who will also act as Project Manager to lead large‑scale construction projects from design through handover. The role demands hands‑on technical expertise and strong leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage civil and structural construction projects from inception to completion.
• Supervise site teams, contractors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Ensure projects meet approved time, cost, quality and safety targets.
• Review and interpret structural, architectural and civil drawings.
• Oversee building works including foundations, reinforced concrete, steel structures and masonry.
• Conduct regular site inspections, resolve technical issues and enforce compliance with standards.
• Prepare technical, progress and method‑statement reports.
• Monitor budgets, quantities, variations and procurement.
• Guarantee quality control, QA, and adherence to Kenyan building regulations and OHS requirements.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning and handover of completed works.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in structural/civil engineering and project management.
• Registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
• Proven track record managing large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan building codes, health and safety legislation and environmental standards.
