Studio Manager & Lead Interior Designer

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Studio Manager and Lead Interior Designer to head our design team in Nairobi. You will combine creative vision with strong leadership to deliver high‑quality interior projects for residential and commercial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of about five designers and support staff.
• Oversee interior design projects from concept development through to final installation.
• Create functional and aesthetic design solutions that align with client briefs.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities, building long‑term client relationships.
• Prepare and present compelling proposals and design presentations.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
• Implement processes to improve operational efficiency and team performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of interior design experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven track record in business development or client acquisition.
• Strong portfolio showcasing residential and/or commercial interior projects.
• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in 3Ds Max.
