Supervisor Base Communications Office (BCO)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Supervisor for the Base Communications Office (BCO) to lead the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Base Telecommunications Distribution System supporting a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead installation, configuration, and operation of switchboards, telephone switches, inside‑plant equipment, and both fiber‑optic and copper outside‑plant cabling.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate personnel responsible for communications infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with BICSI standards and maintain required industry certifications.
• Conduct scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and testing of all telecommunications components.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, minimize downtime, and produce detailed technical reports and documentation.

Required profile

• BICSI Registered Technician Level certification or higher.
• Proof of equipment‑manufacturer or industry‑approved certifications.
• Extensive experience managing base communications systems and infrastructure.

Required skills

• Telecommunications system installation and maintenance.
