System Administrator – Oracle MICROS POS

About the role

The System Administrator will manage the Oracle MICROS POS ecosystem for Charlie’s Corp across all branches in Nairobi. You will ensure system reliability, resolve technical issues quickly, and support business users while maintaining high service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support the Oracle MICROS POS system at all company locations.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and POS‑related incidents within agreed SLAs.
• Monitor system performance, recommend and implement improvements.
• Configure menus, products, pricing, promotions, user roles and security settings.
• Perform regular data backups, software updates and preventive maintenance.
• Develop user manuals, SOPs and training materials; deliver onboarding and refresher training.
• Provide technical guidance to branch managers and collaborate with Finance and Operations on reporting needs.
• Prepare system health, maintenance, incident and performance reports.
• Coordinate with Oracle MICROS support and third‑party vendors for escalations.
• Assist with system upgrades, integrations, testing and new feature roll‑outs.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and be on‑call for critical emergencies outside normal hours.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience administering Oracle MICROS POS in hospitality, restaurant, hotel or retail environments.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve system failures while minimizing downtime.
