Technical Stores Officer

About the role

The Technical Stores Officer will manage aviation‑related inventory for AMREF Health Africa in Nairobi. This role ensures that aircraft parts, tools and ground support equipment are received, stored, and issued in compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, store and issue aircraft parts, tools, consumables and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) according to company procedures and aviation regulations.
• Verify that all incoming and outgoing items are supported by the required airworthiness and KCAA documentation, maintaining full traceability.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and promptly record all stock transactions in the inventory management system.
• Label, segregate and store inventory correctly; conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate with suppliers, negotiate deliveries and manage supplier relationships.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with KCAA and company policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in aviation stores operations, inventory and warehouse management.
• Knowledge of aircraft parts, tools, GSE, consumables and applicable KCAA regulatory documentation.
• Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.
• Ability to lift and handle inventory safely and work both independently and within a team.
