About the role

The Department of Art and Design at Maseno University is seeking a Technician (Grade Six) to support teaching and research activities. The role involves preparing teaching materials, conducting laboratory practicals for undergraduate students, and maintaining a safe and well‑organized laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and prepare teaching materials required for laboratory sessions.
• Conduct laboratory practicals and demonstrations for undergraduate courses.
• Participate in research activities carried out within the laboratory.
• Ensure all laboratory ware, including chemicals, glassware, plasticware and equipment, are kept in good order.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the laboratory and associated workshops.
• Keep accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Receive, process and analyse samples as part of routine laboratory work.
• Ensure safe use, handling and disposal of chemicals and laboratory waste.
• Perform general laboratory routine tasks to support departmental operations.
