Temporary Reliever Driver

About the role

Light Up Hope is seeking a reliable Temporary Reliever Driver to support its logistics operations across Kajiado County, Kenya. The driver will ensure safe transport of staff, VIPs, project participants, and goods while maintaining vehicle readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Drive NGO staff, VIPs, and participants to offices, field sites, and meetings safely and on schedule.
• Transport project parcels, documents, and cargo, guaranteeing timely and secure delivery.
• Keep vehicles clean, well‑maintained, and compliant with registration, insurance, and maintenance records.
• Report mechanical issues promptly and coordinate repairs.
• Assist project teams with logistical tasks, including fieldwork support and emergency availability.
• Build professional relationships with colleagues, partners, and local authorities.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence with a clean record.
• 3–5 years of professional driving experience, preferably with manual transmission vehicles.
• Basic literacy and numeracy; computer literacy is an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, and handle emergencies.
• Reports to the Procurement and Logistics Officer; no supervisory duties.
