Transport Supervisor (Funeral Home)

About the role

The Transport Supervisor will oversee all vehicle movements for a funeral home, ensuring timely and safe removals, transfers, repatriations and support for branch operations in Nairobi. The role combines fleet coordination, driver management and compliance with Kenyan transport regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily vehicle dispatches for funerals, hospital removals, airport pickups and inter‑county transfers, monitoring schedules and ensuring punctuality.
• Maintain vehicle readiness by supervising cleaning, fueling, servicing and mechanical checks before each use.
• Supervise day‑ and night‑shift drivers, enforce duty rosters, company policies on fuel use, speed limits, route adherence and client handling, and conduct regular briefings and training.
• Ensure all vehicles meet legal requirements (insurance, inspection, licensing) and liaise with mechanics for repairs, tyre changes and emergency breakdowns.
• Perform spot checks on logbooks, fuel consumption, GPS data and oversee accident reporting and investigations.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on transport operations, driver performance, fuel usage and vehicle condition, and flag any operational risks.

Required profile

• Valid Kenyan driving licence (Class B preferred) with a clean driving record.
• Diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in fleet management or transport supervision, preferably in a fast‑paced or sensitive environment.
• Proven ability to manage drivers, understand Kenyan road networks, county routes and airport logistics.
