Trial Vendor Associate Director

About the role

The Trial Vendor Associate Director will lead vendor management activities throughout the lifecycle of clinical studies, ensuring quality, cost control and timely delivery of services. This senior position works closely with study teams, procurement and cross‑functional partners to drive successful trial execution.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with study team leads and members across the study lifecycle.
• Review vendor‑related protocol sections during protocol development.
• Manage vendor interfaces and support contract negotiations in partnership with procurement.
• Oversee vendor cost control, budget reviews, invoice reconciliation and purchase order close‑out.
• Ensure vendor service excellence and maintain quality standards at the study level.
• Drive site activation, compile central documents and address risks/issues during activation.
• Conduct user‑acceptance testing (UAT) for electronic Clinical Outcome Assessment (eCOA) and Interactive Response Technology (IRT) systems.
• Monitor vendor‑related cycle times and risks using tools such as FIRST and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in clinical operations and vendor management.
• Strong understanding of GxP and ICH regulations.
• Solid knowledge of clinical trial design and alignment to supplier requirements.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time in a matrixed environment.
• Excellent influencing, negotiation, communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for eCOA and IRT systems.
• Experience with the FIRST tool for monitoring cycle times and risks.
• Knowledge of GxP and ICH regulatory frameworks.
