Unit Manager – Insurance Sales

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Unit Manager to lead our insurance sales team in Nairobi. The role involves driving revenue, coaching advisors and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and supervise a team of insurance sales agents, setting performance targets and conducting regular coaching sessions.
• Recruit, onboard and retain qualified financial advisors, delivering product and sales training.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share and achieve unit revenue goals.
• Monitor team performance metrics, prepare sales reports and use data insights to improve productivity.
• Support advisors in building client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to insurance regulations, maintain valid IRA or ECOP licences and stay updated on industry trends.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in insurance sales or a leadership role within a financial services environment.
• Proven track record of recruiting, managing and training high‑performing sales teams.
• Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive business growth.
• Valid IRA or ECOP licence.

Required skills

• Excellent sales, negotiation and closing techniques.
• Ability to analyse performance data and generate actionable insights.
• In‑depth knowledge of insurance products and regulatory compliance.
