About the role
The Veterinary Officer will provide professional animal health services to farms and livestock owners, ensuring the wellbeing of animals through diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.
Key responsibilities
- Examine animals, diagnose diseases and injuries, and administer appropriate treatments.
- Perform vaccinations, medication administration, and both minor and major veterinary procedures where qualified.
- Conduct routine health checks, preventive care, and monitor disease spread.
- Advise owners on nutrition, breeding, hygiene and overall animal welfare.
- Maintain accurate medical records and prepare veterinary reports.
- Visit farms and fields, respond to emergencies, and ensure proper storage of medicines.
- Promote compliance with veterinary regulations and educate clients on disease prevention.
Required profile
- Mid‑level veterinary qualification with at least 24 months of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of animal health, disease control and veterinary best practices.
- Ability to work independently in field settings and communicate effectively with animal owners.
